Community
RD3D is committed to giving back to the community and regularly participates in mentorship with the younger generation through various programs such as Bradford Benton’s Dream Design Lab, where under-privileged children undergo a prototyping workshop, allowing them to explore the world of design thinking, CAD, and product engineering.
Here are some highlights from Dream Lab (2024):
This initiative permits participants to learn to identify problems, develop innovative solutions, and bring their ideas to life through prototype fabrication.
Highlights from Dream Lab (2025):
Our latest intern Caleb from the New Canaan High School started his internship with a visit to the Manufacturing Expo at the Javits Center in NYC:
We wanted to provide Caleb with a practical rapid prototyping experience so when he told us that he had an existing design for bi-ped robot, we knew we had the perfect project. After providing him with the guidance needed, he was able to continue with the deconstruction and fabrication at his own pace and within 3 weeks this rapid prototyping project came to life:
Caleb has also learned how to navigate 3D scanning equipment and is actively assisting us with other projects.
